Lino-Cut Printing for Beginners An introduction to Lino-Cut Printing with Evelyn Polk Date: Tuesday 22nd April 2025 Time: Morning session from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm Price: £54 per person Join us for a relaxing and creative workshop where local artist Evelyn Polk will guide you through the basics of lino-cut printmaking. Perfect for beginners, this session will cover everything from designing and carving your Lino block to hand-printing your own unique artworks. By the end of the session, you’ll have at least one finished print to take home and the inspiration to continue your lino-cut journey. For those looking to continue their practice at home, printing kits and instructional books are available for purchase in the gallery gift shop. As the workshop coincides with Earth Day, participants are welcome (but not required!) to take inspiration from the day’s themes of nature, sustainability, and our planet. Whether you choose to focus on an Earth Day-inspired design or follow your own creative ideas, this workshop is all about exploring the joy of printmaking in a welcoming and supportive environment. Who is the Class for? This workshop is open to everyone, from complete beginners to those who’ve printed with us before. What’s Provided: • Materials & Tools: All tools and materials are supplied, including lino blocks, carving tools, inks and paper. • Refreshments: Enjoy tea, coffee, cakes, and biscuits in good company! What to Bring: Bring along some visual inspiration—such as drawings, sketches, or reference images printed out—to help create your design. (A5 size max if you plan to trace.) Simple, graphic images work best for lino-cutting. We also recommend bringing a box or folder to safely transport your prints home. What to Wear: Wear comfortable, older clothing as the process can get a little messy. An apron is also helpful if you have one. Accessibility: Please note that the workshop is held in our upper gallery, which unfortunately is not accessible for wheelchair users. We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. Booking Information: Spaces are limited, so early booking is highly recommended to secure your place!
