Service Description
“Printing with Multiple Colours” An Introduction to the ‘Reduction’ Printing Method with Evelyn Polk Date: Tuesday 15th April 2025 Time: Morning session from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm Price: £60 per person Join us for a relaxing, tutor-led workshop where Evelyn Polk will guide you through the reduction Lino printing process. This unique method allows you to create striking, multi-coloured prints by carving and printing from a single block, layer by layer. Each colour is printed, then sections of the lino are cut away before adding the next layer, resulting in beautiful, multi-colour images. Who is the Class for? This workshop is suitable for all levels, from complete beginners to those who’ve printed with us before. It’s designed as an engaging introduction to this exciting medium and will leave you inspired to explore further on your own. For those looking to continue their practice at home, printing kits and instructional books are available for purchase in the gallery gift shop. What’s Provided: • Materials & Tools: All printmaking materials and tools are supplied, including lino blocks, carving tools, inks, and paper. • Refreshments: Enjoy tea, coffee, cakes, and biscuits in good company! What to Bring: Please bring along visual inspiration for your piece, such as sketches or reference images (A5 size max if you plan to trace). Simple, graphic images work best for this technique. We also recommend bringing a box or folder to safely transport your prints home. What to Wear: We recommend comfortable, older clothing as the printing process can get a little inky. An apron is also useful if you have one. Accessibility: Please note that the workshop is held in our upper gallery, which unfortunately is not accessible to wheelchair users. We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. Booking Information: Spaces are limited, so early booking is highly recommended to secure your place!
