Service Description

Portrait Drawing with Chris Bennett Date: Sunday 11th May 2025 Time: 10:30am - 12:30pm Price: £36 per person (Tutored workshop) Minimum Age: 18 Join Chris Bennett, R.O.I and discover how to draw portraits that celebrate the life and personality of the sitter. Throughout the session you will work directly from a life model guided by the friendly advice from your tutor, Chris. What to Bring: For this class, all you will need is a 2B pencil and/or Charcoal, artist paper (A3 Drawing pad) and a rubber. What’s Provided: Light refreshments, including tea, coffee, cakes, and biscuits—enjoy good conversation while you draw! What to Wear:
 Comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. Accessibility:
 Please note that the workshop takes place in our upper gallery, which unfortunately is not accessible for wheelchair users. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. Booking Information:
 Spaces are limited, so early booking is highly recommended to secure your place. ABOUT YOUR TUTOR: Chris Bennett was born in London in 1957 and studied at the Slade School of Fine Art under notable tutors including Euan Euglow, Geoffrey Camp, and Philip Sutton. His work has been featured at prestigious venues such as the Royal Academy and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. Chris has also exhibited internationally, with notable commissions including a portrait of Sir William Hawthorne, now housed at Churchill College, Cambridge. Chris is also published by DeMontfort Fine Art, with selected works licensed as open and limited editions in the UK, Japan and the USA.

Cancellation Policy Course Bookings: • Places on our courses are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis upon receipt of payment. • Submitting an application form without payment does not reserve a place on the course. • To guarantee a place, all applicants must pay in full after submitting their form. Refunds and Cancellations: • Cancellations up to 7 days before the course start date: Participants may cancel and receive a refund, subject to a £25 cancellation fee. • Cancellations within 72 hours of the course start date: Refunds will not be issued. • Non-attendance: No refunds will be provided for students who do not attend due to illness, personal commitments, or professional obligations. Course Changes or Cancellations by Mill Tye Gallery: • Mill Tye Gallery reserves the right to cancel or amend courses due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, participants will be offered an alternative date or a full refund. Access: • Workshops take place in the upper gallery, which is not wheelchair accessible. • If you have any physical disabilities or special learning needs, please notify us in advance by emailing milltye@icloud.com or calling 01787 376796, and we will do our best to accommodate you. Safety: • Prohibited items: Aerosol fixative sprays, smoking, mobile phones, radios, and personal stereos are not permitted during workshops. • Personal belongings: Participants are responsible for their belongings at all times. The gallery cannot accept liability for loss or damage to personal items. • Participants must take all work and belongings with them at the end of the class.
