Service Description

Monotype printing, the most direct and instant form of printmaking. Monotype is a single printing of an image when just one impression is taken no matter what technique is used. Monotype was used by artists like Degas. This workshop is designed for complete beginners or those with some experience who wish to refresh their memory of the processes. It is a fantastic way to explore a variety of monotype printing techniques. Especially suitable for those who enjoy mark making. All your materials such as inks, binders, emulsion, pens, pencils, rulers etc. are supplied on the day of the workshop. Please bring some visual inspiration and drawings or reference images printed out to create your image from. Please make sure that your individual images are a maximum size of A5 if you plan to trace them. Simple, graphic images work best for this workshop. All printmaking materials and tools will be provided. Our art classes are a great way to learn new skills in a wonderful relaxing environment, opposite the Mill Pond in Mill Tye. Light refreshments will be available. What to wear Comfortable old clothing that you do not mind the possibility of getting a little inky! An apron is also useful if you have one. Access The course takes place in the upper gallery which is not suitable for wheel chair access. SPACES ARE LIMITED ON ALL OF OUR WORKSHOPS. Pre-booking is essential due to the popularity of our workshops.

Cancellation Policy

Places on our courses will be allocated on a first come, first served basis once payment has been received. Completing the application form without also making payment does not reserve a place on the course. All applicants must pay after submitting their form to guarantee a place on their chosen course. Refunds and Cancellations Cancellations are permitted up to one week before the start of a course, subject to a £25 cancellation fee. Refunds will not be made for cancellations less than 72 hours before the start of a course. Students who do not attend due to illness, personal or professional commitments do not have the right to a refund. Access The workshop takes place in the upper gallery which is not suitable for wheel chair access. Please notify the Gallery if participants have physical disabilities or special learning needs. Tell us about your needs in confidence by or by phone 01787 376796. Safety Aerosol fixative sprays and smoking are not permitted in the building. The use of mobile telephones, radios, personal stereos is not allowed. Please take care of your belongings at all times and never leave valuables unattended. We regret that we cannot be held responsible for the loss of participants’ belongings. Participants must make sure that they take all work and belongings away at the end of the class.
