Evelyn Polk
Printmaker | Collagraph, Lino-cut & Mono Printing
Evelyn Polk is a Bury St Edmunds–based printmaker whose work explores ideas of place, material, and memory through experimental printmaking techniques. A graduate of the Cambridge School of Art in Fine Art and Printmaking, Evelyn began her career in education before dedicating herself full-time to her artistic practice from her own studio in Suffolk.
Her work is centred around the found object, often referencing excavation, land, and the traces left behind. Acting as a visual mediator, Evelyn selects and re-presents fragments and forms that invite reflection on the connections between people, place, and time. Her process embraces multiple printmaking methods — from collagraph and lino-cut to monoprinting — resulting in richly layered compositions that push the boundaries of traditional printmaking.
Evelyn first exhibited at Mill Tye Gallery in 2024 as part of the 12PM (Twelve Printmakers exhibition, and her work has since become a favourite with visitors and collectors alike. Her collagraph prints have been a consistent success in the gallery over the past four years, and she continues to exhibit regularly as part of our seasonal printmaker exhibitions.
