Landscape Tasting
A Mixed-media workshop with the artist Thirza Kotzen
Date: Thursday 25th April
Time: 10am to 3pm (with a break for lunch)
Tutor: Thirza Kotzen
Price: £54 per person.
This class is suitable for all levels from beginners to the more experienced artist.
Have you ever wondered how to capture the way that you
feel when you look at a landscape?
In this four-hour workshop you will spend time working with
the artist Thirza Kotzen whose incredible collagraphs and
paintings are inspired by the minutiae and enormity of nature
and conjure feelings of mysticism and awe.
Thirza will encourage you to choose a landscape from photographs of places you have been to and loved. She will then guide you through a variety of processes to extract feelings from those landscapes and translate them using media such as crayons, pencils, ink, and collage. Then, time
allowing, you will turn your artwork into a simple booklet which represents “a map of yourselves, the day and something in nature that you love.”
