Bookbinding Workshop with Rowan Collinson Date: Tuesday 9 June 2026 Time: 9:30am – 12:30pm Price: £42 per person (All materials provided) As part of her June Artist in Residence programme, Rowan Collinson leads this hands-on bookbinding workshop, offering an introduction to traditional and contemporary bookbinding techniques used by artists, designers and photographers. Participants will be guided through the fundamentals of book construction, including perfect binding, saddle stitch and stitched signatures. The session will also explore sequencing, narrative flow and the varied ways artists use books and zines to present and contextualise their work. By the end of the workshop, you will have created at least two hand-bound sketchbooks using French Link Stitch and Japanese Stab Binding techniques, alongside a deeper understanding of how books can function as creative and conceptual objects. The session forms part of Rowan Collinson’s June Artist in Residence programme, A Field Study: Documenting Four Seasons, which considers ecology, place and the quiet transformation of the landscape through sustainable photographic practice. Refreshments Tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits will be available throughout the morning. Workshops with June Artist in Residence Rowan Collinson As part of her June Artist in Residence programme, Rowan Collinson leads a series of hands-on workshops exploring bookmaking and sustainable photographic processes. Working with light, plants and paper, the programme brings together bookbinding, cyanotype printmaking and phytograms, inviting participants to engage with material processes, sequencing and the rhythms of the natural world.

Cancellation Policy Course Bookings: • Places on our courses are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis upon receipt of payment. • Submitting an application form without payment does not reserve a place on the course. • To guarantee a place, all applicants must pay in full after submitting their form. Refunds and Cancellations: • Cancellations up to 7 days before the course start date: Participants may cancel and receive a refund, subject to a £25 cancellation fee. • Cancellations within 72 hours of the course start date: Refunds will not be issued. • Non-attendance: No refunds will be provided for students who do not attend due to illness, personal commitments, or professional obligations. Course Changes or Cancellations by Mill Tye Gallery: • Mill Tye Gallery reserves the right to cancel or amend courses due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, participants will be offered an alternative date or a full refund.
