Service Description

Master the Art of Watercolour Portrait Painting with Chris Bennett, R.O.I. Date: Tuesday 7th April 2026 Time: 6:30pm to 9pm (Evening Session) Price: £48 per person (Tutored workshop-Includes model) Discover the expressive potential of watercolour with artist Chris Bennett, R.O.I., as he introduces his unique approach to this versatile medium. Building naturally on the principles explored in his Portrait and Figure Drawing workshops, Chris will guide you through a process that blends thoughtful observation with confident, fluid mark-making. In this hands-on session, you’ll learn how to use watercolour to deepen your understanding of tone, structure and form — while embracing the freshness and spontaneity that make the medium so rewarding. Whether you're new to watercolour or looking to enrich your existing practice, Chris’s warm, expert teaching will help you develop your skills with clarity and creativity. What to bring: Please bring your watercolour paints, palettes, brushes, water pots and an A3 or A2 watercolour pad (or similar artist-quality paper). A range of pencils from 2B to 6B and a rubber will also be helpful for preparatory sketches. What’s provided: Light refreshments, including tea, coffee, cakes, and biscuits — enjoy a relaxed, friendly atmosphere as you paint. What to wear: Comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. Accessibility: Please note that the workshop takes place in our upper gallery, which unfortunately is not accessible for wheelchair users. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. Booking Information: Spaces are limited, so early booking is highly recommended to secure your place.
