Service Description

Who Are We? Mapping our stories through mixed media Led by Thirza Kotzen Date: Thursday 14 May Time: 10:00am – 3:00pm (with a break for lunch) To accompany the exhibition, Thirza will lead a one-day mixed-media workshop exploring personal storytelling through artistic mapping. Building on the themes of Landsongs (a dreaming), participants will reflect on their own journeys—domestic, internal, emotional or experiential—and consider how these stories might be transformed into visual artworks. Through guided exercises, discussion and hands-on making, Thirza will introduce approaches to layering, abstraction and intuitive mark-making as tools for expressing one’s sense of place and self. All basic materials will be provided, including paper, crayons, paint, scissors, cutting tools and glue. Participants are warmly encouraged to bring any additional or preferred media of their own to enrich their creative process. Please bring a packed lunch. Light refreshments will be available throughout the day. ACCESS: The course takes place in the upper gallery which is not suitable for wheelchair access. SPACES ARE LIMITED ON OUR COURSES. EARLY BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL.
