About the event

An Appliqué Afternoon

A Textiles Exhibition by Eleanor Mills

Saturday 6th September to Sunday 28th September 2025 at Mill Tye Gallery

Mill Tye Gallery is proud to host the work of Eleanor Mills, a Sudbury native, alumna of Thomas Gainsborough School, and recent graduate of Brighton University. In this compelling exhibition, Eleanor reflects on her journey from childhood in a rural town to adulthood as a professional textile artist, and her rediscovery of the local landscape upon returning home.

Through a contemporary lens, Eleanor explores themes of memory, connection and growth. Her work visually interprets her evolving relationship with the Sudbury area, drawing on childhood experiences of friendship and the ways they were nurtured within the surrounding countryside. Using textiles as her medium, she manipulates fabrics to create vibrant, evocative pieces that weave together past and present.
