About the event
Bev Howe graduated from Norwich School of Art in 1990 with a First Class Honours Degree in Illustration and has continued to paint and make ever since. Â
Most recently, Bev has made finely detailed paintings on paper and board, using acrylic paints and inks. She cites her passion for colour and its power to affect mood (especially her own) as her greatest motivation to create her paintings. Regarding subject matter, she is led purely by her over-active imagination: Dreams, folklore, tattoos, the insect world and memories of her father's garden all feed into her work.Â
She says, "The closer I look at the world around me and consider it's relationship to the ideas in my head, the more fascinating it becomes. Faces, words, plants and birds, new things and antiques, reflections and shadows, the list is endless and all of it has the potential to influence the cultivation of a satisfying image. I invite the viewer to make up their own narrative in my work."
The exhibition previews on Saturday 4 September from 11am to 6pm.
It continues until Sunday 26 September 2021.
