Masha Tiplady
We’re pleased to introduce printmaker Masha Tiplady to Mill Tye Gallery.
Masha Tiplady is an Edinburgh-based wood engraver and linocut artist whose work is defined by its intricate detail and sensitive use of tone and texture. Through careful, considered mark-making, she creates finely balanced compositions that reveal the expressive potential of traditional printmaking techniques.
Working from her garden studio, Masha prints each piece by hand using an antique Albion press. Her imagery is rooted in the natural world, often drawing on the landscapes of Edinburgh’s Southside and Holyrood, alongside themes of mythology, folklore and storytelling. These influences combine to produce work that feels both grounded in place and rich in narrative.
Masha is an elected member of the Society of Wood Engravers and serves as Vice Chair of Printmakers of Scotland.
