Silk painting has become extremely popular recently as you can achieve some amazing results as silk is such a beautiful fabric to work on. It's easy, it's fun and you don't need to be an experienced artist to produce some beautiful work. About Valerie’s Class Painting on silk has been around in Asia for many centuries and this course aims to give a glimpse into the techniques and beauty of silk painting for the beginner to the more experienced artist who would like to try this medium for the first time. All materials will be provided including stencils and outlines from which to work although students can bring any ideas or pictures to work from. The aim of the workshop is to try out various techniques of silk painting such as using salt and gutta (outliner) and there will be the opportunity of painting a silk scarf (included in the price) which makes lovely Christmas gift for someone, or a silk card (included in the price), a painting that can be framed at a later stage. This course is an introduction to a new and exciting medium with a Christmas theme, which hopefully will inspire you to explore the further possibilities of silk painting.
