Service Description

Lino-cut Printing for Beginners Date: Tuesday 11th June 2024 Time: 9:30 to 1:00pm Tutor: Evelyn Polk (12PM Printmaker) Learn how to design, carve and print your own unique lino-cut prints under the guidance of local artist Evelyn Polk. This relaxing tutor lead workshop is designed to be an introduction for beginners to the process of lino cut printmaking, the tools required, how to translate a design into lino, transferring a design on to the lino block, carving out a design in lino with tips on cutting techniques, experience and advice on hand printing on to paper producing at least one print to take home. Price includes the cost of all your materials. Light refreshments are available. Please bring some visual inspiration and drawings or reference images printed out to create your image from. Please make sure that your individual images are a maximum size of A5 if you plan to trace them. Simple, graphic images work best for this workshop. Please bring a box or folder to transport your prints home safely. Beginners are welcome on all of our workshops and so are experienced artists wanting to explore or develop new techniques. What to wear Comfortable old clothing that you do not mind the possibility of getting a little inky! An apron is also useful if you have one. Access The course takes place in the upper gallery which is not suitable for wheel chair access. SPACES ARE LIMITED ON ALL OF OUR WORKSHOPS. Pre-booking is essential due to the popularity of our workshops.

Cancellation Policy

Places on our courses will be allocated on a first come, first served basis once payment has been received. Completing the application form without also making payment does not reserve a place on the course. All applicants must pay after submitting their form to guarantee a place on their chosen course. Refunds and Cancellations Cancellations are permitted up to one week before the start of a course, subject to a £25 cancellation fee. Refunds will not be made for cancellations less than 72 hours before the start of a course. Students who do not attend due to illness, personal or professional commitments do not have the right to a refund. Access The workshop takes place in the upper gallery which is not suitable for wheel chair access. Please notify the Gallery if participants have physical disabilities or special learning needs. The use of mobile telephones, radios, personal stereos is not allowed. Please take care of your belongings at all times and never leave valuables unattended. We regret that we cannot be held responsible for the loss of participants’ belongings. Participants must make sure that they take all work and belongings away at the end of the class.
