Since September, the Gainsborough's House Print Workshop has been quietly buzzing with energy, experimentation and ambition. Pulling Prints is the culmination of months of dedicated making by a group of emerging artists aged 18–25, brought together through a free creative development programme led by Gainsborough’s House, with support from Mill Tye Gallery.

This exhibition represents far more than a final outcome. It is the result of sustained commitment, peer exchange and hands-on learning, as eight early-career artists have immersed themselves in both traditional and contemporary printmaking processes. Over the course of the programme, the group has worked intensively in the studio — pulling proofs, refining plates, testing materials and pushing their ideas through repeated acts of making.

The work that emerges in Pulling Prints is bold, exploratory and assured. Collectively, the exhibition reflects a strong sense of curiosity and collaboration, while each artist’s practice retains a distinct and confident voice. Themes of identity, process and materiality sit alongside formal experimentation, demonstrating print’s continued relevance as a dynamic and evolving medium.
The exhibition brings together a diverse cohort of artists — Eartha Jean, Eleanor Mills, Flo Cameron, Lucy Perry, Maddy McCloskey, Mae Warner, Rowan Collinson and Solo Nichol — whose creative backgrounds span fashion, photography, installation and fine art printmaking. Based locally as well as in Norwich and London, these artists are at a pivotal stage in their careers, and Pulling Prints offers a vital platform at a moment when visibility and support can make a lasting difference.
We warmly encourage our audiences, collectors and supporters to show their support for these young people as they begin their professional journeys as artists and makers. Visiting the exhibition, attending the preview and sharing the work with others all contribute to sustaining the future of contemporary print practice.
