Sophie Cook's Bullet Bottles are sculptural vessels made to be enjoyed as individual objects or collected and displayed together. Their simple, elongated form has a wonderful presence, while the intense colour and glossy finish bring the piece to life.
Each bottle is hand thrown and carved by Sophie in Suffolk, making every one a unique piece. Working in porcelain is an exceptionally delicate process: after throwing, the vessels are left to dry before being carefully carved to refine their shape, then sprayed and dried again before firing. The process is unforgiving, with only some pieces surviving the carving and firing stages.
This Medium Bullet Bottle has a vibrant shiny yellow glaze. Sophie develops her glazes in small batches, so colour and finish can vary slightly from one piece to another.Beautiful displayed on its own, or particularly effective as part of a collection of Sophie's bottles, pods and teardrop forms.
